PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Managing IT Projects requires a set of skills and techniques without which IT projects will fail. This program gives participants the skills needed to define, plan, monitor and successfully complete IT projects while meeting the objectives of the business.
An increasing number of companies today use IT as part of its strategy to win the market, and to streamline its operation to optimize cost.
This calls for transformation, merging or re-engineering of its business processes, building or fitting IT applications and infrastructure to support them.
A project manager is required to manage the combined Business Transformation (BT) and IT project, to work out a plan, execute and meet its targeted scope, schedule and funding, and to produce sustainable results.
This program will provide the knowledge and skills to start managing such projects.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
At the end of the training, the student would acquire knowledge and basic, practical skills in the following areas:
- Project Management Processes and Aspects. BT/IT perspective.
- The phases a BT/IT project will have to go through, the activities associated with the phases, the deliverables, the continuity criteria
- Building a project plan, and certain phase deliverables
- Building a project team, and establish management systems for the project
- Organizing and leading certain key and critical activities in the life of a BT/IT project
- Use of technology in managing the project

LEARNING METHODOLOGY
A proper mix of short lectures, Q&A, sharing, discussions, individual & group exercises and case studies.
FACILITATOR
Rosihan (Robby) Soebiakto – BT/IT Project Management Consultant of Trimitra Consultants. Prior to joining Trimitra Consultants, Robby has worked for more than 25 years at IBM in Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Robby’s IT/BT Project Management experiences include:
- Project Manager, deployed ERP and SCM processes for IBM Personal Computing Division in ASEAN, running on IBM world wide back-to-back twin SAP R3 instances in Poughkeepsie, US and Portsmouth, UK. Large scale project involving application development teams in Raleigh, North Carolina, US, Basis and IT team in US, UK and Australia, business process analysts in ASEAN, US, Australia and end users in Singapore and the other four ASEAN countries. The deployment was to replace legacy ERP/SCM application and transform the business processes.
- Project Manager, deployed ‘Direct Ship from Manufacturing’ pilot project, a process re-engineering enhancement running on the SAP R3 system of IBM Personal Computing Division.
- Project Manager, deployed further the ERP processes in IBM Personal Computing Division, to IBM Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Deployment was a sub-project within the larger IBM Asia Pacific-South Direct Ship from manufacturing enablement project.
- Project Manager, deployed Sales Building Block (SBB) product structure for IBM Personal Computing Division in Asia Pacific. Deployment work scope was Project Management of SAP material data conversion, cutover and ramp up coordination, post production support.
